2005 Inaugural River of Light
The premiere of The River of Light, a vigil of water, fire, light and sound to celebrate the life and peoples' of the Hudson River with a floating stage, pyrokinetic sculpture, live music and lighted kayaks.
Planet Sturgeon 2006
A drum circle of planetary energies surrounding a giant floating Armillary sphere, burned away to revealing a metal sturgeon, a living icon of the Hudson River.
Descent to the Flaming Heart 2007
This year's ROL begins with a procession, moving through a series of performative "stations" to the Hudson River with the audience journeying through a flaming heart banner and ending with a fire performance atop an eight pole set in the river. The point of this journey is to enlarge the heart, not constrict it, in the face of whatever pain or joy we experience.
